Miltons Wallpapers Ltd trade as West End DIY. We are a traditional family business and we celebrated our 70th anniversary last year.
When the first West End shop opened in Dalkeith Place, Kettering, in 1938, it was purely to sell quality wallpapers and paints, for which demand grew considerably after the war.
The first West End DIY store opened in 1971 on High Street, Rushden, and took its name from the night club which previously occupied the premises.
A fire, in July 1994 almost destroyed the store but prompt renovation work ensured it was back open for trading by January 1995 and stocks were considerably more than wallpaper and paints, offering customers gardening and other DIY products. Other stores soon followed in Corby, Wellingborough, Desborough and Northampton spreading the name across the county of Northamptonshire and beyond as stores also opened in St Ives, Huntingdon and March./p>
In 1993 we opened our first garden centre, Seasons, in Bedford followed in 2002 by another garden centre in Burton Latimer.
West End DIY pride itself on our excellent service which we bring to the consumer.
